MATCH PREVIEW | Rhinos and Valkyrie clash at AMT Headingley this Sunday

Two sides confirmed in this year's Betfred Women's Super League semi finals, Leeds Rhinos and York Valkyrie, go head to head in the final game of the regular season at AMT Headingley this Sunday, kick off 3pm.
Lois Forsell's Leeds side have built momentum over the last four games against Leigh, Barrow, Warrington and Huddersfield, as they come into round 14 unbeaten but they face a York side who have only lost this fixture once in the last five outings.
Here's your match preview:
Opposition
Although the reigning Grand Final champions haven't been able to match St Helens and Wigan so far in 2025, few would write off York Valkyrie for appearing in a fourth consecutive Grand Final at the end of the season.
Lindsey Anfield's side came from third place to retain their Grand Final title against St Helens in 2024, but the Red Vee have retaliated in 2025 as the only side to beat York in both meetings during the league season. After losing out to Wigan in the opening game of the league season, the Valkyrie came back to beat Leeds at the LNER Community Stadium thanks to two tries from former Leeds winger Tara Moxon in a 24-16 win before going on an eight game winning spree following a tight 16-12 loss to Saints.
Huddersfield, Warrington, Leigh and Barrow were all swept aside as part of York's run, as well as the league leaders Wigan who were only restricted to 10 points as Savannah Andrade, Emma Kershaw, Peace Lekuru, Rhiannion Marshall, Eboni Partington and Sinead Peach scored tries for the home side. Andrade has had a career season with 15 tries in all competitions, closely followed by Kershaw who has 12 tries and Partington on 11. Season signing Ellie Williamson has stepped up in the kicking department with 48 goals.
Although this weekend's test against Leeds cannot impact the final league standings, taking a win into the semi finals is crucial for both clubs - especially as the Valkyrie take on a Saints side who they have been unable to beat in all competitions this year. They are the in-form side in this fixture though with only two defeats and one draw against the Rhinos in their last ten meetings. One of those defeats came in the 2022 Grand Final.

Super League Form
York wins - Seven
Leeds wins - Nine
York's Biggest Win - Round 12, 2024 - Won 32-6

Milestones
KEARA BENNETT needs 2 points to hit 150 career points for the Rhinos. After being sidelined for the middle of the season, the hooker returned last weekend and needs two points to achieve the milestone.
OLIVIA WHITEHEAD needs 10 points to hit 100 career points for the Rhinos. Since moving from York in 2024, the winger has scored 18 tries and kicked nine goals in 33 games for the club.
RUBY WALKER needs 10 points to hit 100 career points for the Rhinos. Alongside nine tries for the Rhinos, she has also been accurate with the boot, kicking 27 goals.
